Healogics and American Diabetes Association Join Forces to Combat Diabetic Wounds During National Diabetes Awareness Month
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 1, 2024) – Healogics, the nation’s premier provider of advanced wound care services, is excited to announce its continued partnership with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in recognition of National Diabetes Awareness Month this November. This collaboration focuses on educating patients about complications associated with diabetes, particularly non-healing wounds while enhancing access to specialized wound treatment.
Currently, over 38 million Americans are living with diabetes, a chronic condition that affects the body’s ability to manage blood sugar levels. When blood sugar remains uncontrolled, it can lead to severe health issues, including kidney disease, vision loss, and chronic wounds on the lower extremities. Dr. William Ennis, Chief Medical Officer of Healogics, stated, “Our ongoing partnership with the ADA is key to addressing one of the most serious complications of diabetes—chronic wounds. By combining Healogics advanced wound care services with the ADA in diabetes management, we’re better equipped to educate patients about prevention and early intervention, improving the overall quality of life for people living with diabetes.”
As part of this initiative, Healogics will be a sponsor at the ADA’s 2024 State of Diabetes event in Daytona, FL, on November 8, 2024.
During this community event, The State of Diabetes strives to drive tangible outcomes:
- Empowering attendees with insights from expert panelists to catalyze changes in diabetes care, workplace wellness, and advocacy efforts.
- Enabling networking sessions to forge collaborations and partnerships that transcend the event, fostering ongoing initiatives in diabetes care, workplace wellness, and advocacy.
- Leveraging ADA resources to equip stakeholders with tools and information for effective diabetes management, prevention, education, and support in our community.
“As the leading provider of wound care services, we are committed to addressing the needs of patients with diabetes,” said Leslie Niblock, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Engagement, and current ADA Community Board Member. “Partnering with the American Diabetes Association allows us to extend our reach and provide crucial education on the prevention and management of diabetic wounds.”
The alliance between Healogics and the ADA aims to empower patients with the knowledge and resources they need to prevent and manage diabetic complications. For more information about Healogics and its commitment to advancing wound care, visit this link.
